Cindy Kane 15th October 2008

Sandy wrote books and materials for children's classrooms for me when I was an editor at Pearson Learning Group and then at a development house. She was a "go-to" writer who would always take on just as many assignments as I could give her. I pictured her working far into the night to meet all those deadlines, but she always met them cheerfully, and she turned out wonderful, kid-friendly books. She turned in her last project for me at the developer shortly before the accident. In our last email exchange, I was working over the weekend and emailed her to say I needed a piece of information to process her invoice. She emailed back to say, "What a pal--working on Saturday so we can get paid!" All of the editors who had worked with Sandy were shocked and saddened to hear of her death. I miss her. Cindy Kane
